Why should you care?
- Official Development Assistance (ODA) has had its biggest cut in a decade, a 9.9% drop from EU Member States and 13% drop from EU institutions. This is a problem, and a time for action.
- We care about this. 70% of the Irish public support our Government providing ODA to developing countries, demonstrating a clear public mandate for the Government.
- EU policies like the Multiannual Financial Framework and Global Gateway shape our ability to work with the furthest behind, and can strongly influence how you, and those closest to you, work.
Why is this an opportunity for you?
Dóchas will be engaging with key stakeholders, MEPs, and EU experts over the course of the Presidency, ensuring that our sector’s voice is heard and there remains a space for open, effective and participatory policy dialogue.
Dóchas will be delivering an EU capacity-building members series.
It is an opportunity to increase public and political mobilisation on the EU’s role as a global actor in international partnerships.
Dóchas will aim to reach new audiences and build public and political mobilisation on the EU’s role through sub-granting to Irish CSOs.
