(1) EU Presidency Launch Event: The future of Development cooperation: Civil society’s ambition for Ireland’s EU Presidency – 24 June
Dóchas invites you to the launch of its EU Presidency Project with a conference “The future of Development cooperation: Civil society’s ambition for Ireland’s EU Presidency” on June 24th at the Royal Irish Academy of Music. The event will feature a Keynote Speech on the role of civil society in a new global Europe, as well as panel discussions looking at challenges and opportunities for the EU’s International Partnerships, and what is at stake during Ireland’s presidency period. (2) Dóchas AGM and Worldview Launch 2026 – 7 May
Dóchas members are invited to join us for our Annual General Meeting in the Gold Room, Chartered Accountants Ireland, 47/49 Pearse Street, D02 YN40 on the 7th May at 9:30am. We will present 2025 highlights, our annual report, elect new members to the Board and address other statutory business. At 11am sharp we will launch the results of Worldview 2026 followed by lunch and time for networking. Register to attend here.
(3) Vacancy: Programme Support Officer – 20 April
Dóchas is seeking applications for a Programme Support Officer to begin in May 2026. The purpose of this role is to enable effective communication with Dóchas members through administrative support, communication, data management and support to Dóchas Working Groups. The PSO also leads on the development of Dóchas-led events, supports in Dóchas planning and reporting, and supports the Dóchas team on specific initiatives or campaigns. This is a full time, hybrid role. Please note: Applicants must have the right to work in Ireland at the time of applying for this role. Closing date: 12pm, Monday 20t h April 2026, interviews to take place during the week starting 20th April. Applications will be also reviewed on a rolling basis, and Dóchas reserves the right to interview candidates as applications are received and before the closing date. (1) CBM Ireland: Global Lens on Eyecare’ Conference – 21 April
CBM Ireland will host a ‘Global Lens on Eyecare’ Conference in the Pillar Room at the Rotunda in Dublin 1 on 21st April 2026 at 5pm with opening remarks by Minister of State for International Development Neale Richmond, TD. Speakers will include ophthalmologists, optometrists and ophthalmic nurses practicing and teaching in Ireland, the UK, Madagascar and more, whose work transcends economic and developmental divides. The event is part-funded by Coalition2030. Special guest speaker, Mr. Jason Smyth, Ireland’s fastest Paralympian. Please register for the event here.

AMRI are hosting a Justice Conference – Advancing Justice, Peace and Care for Our Common Home: Exploring opportunities for collaborative, faith-based responses towards a just and sustainable future for all, on Saturday, 18th April 2026 from 9:30 AM to 4:30 PM at Kimmage Manor Parish Hall. (6) Irish Red Cross: Garda Vetting Coordinator and Liaison Person – 12 April
The Garda Vetting Liaison Person is responsible for coordinating the Garda Vetting process on behalf of the Irish Red Cross. This role ensures compliance with the National Vetting Bureau (Children and Vulnerable Persons) Acts 2012–2016 and supports safe recruitment practices by overseeing the timely, accurate, and confidential processing of vetting applications. As the Digital Manager, you will contribute to the growth and impact of MSF in Ireland by ensuring the organisation communicates effectively with supporters and the public across our digital channels to deliver our strategic objectives. You will lead the development and delivery of MSF Ireland’s digital strategy across website, social media, email marketing and digital campaigns. (8) Front Line Defenders: HR Manager – 13 April
The role of the HR manager is to provide HR guidance and strategy to the management and employees of Front Line Defenders (FLD). We currently have nearly 90 staff globally, with over 40 based in Dublin. The successful candidate will lead on the HR and organisational practices to ensure the continued success of FLD and the fulfilment of its ambitious strategy to ensure that FLD values and competencies are embedded in organisational policies and employee culture. (9) Front Line Defenders: MEL Officer – 19 April
The MEL Officer supports the operations of Front Line Defenders’ MEL system by implementing MEL frameworks, supporting regional and program teams in the application of monitoring tools and processes, conducting data analysis to inform reporting and learning, and contributing to evaluation and learning processes. (13) Irish Rule of Law International: Senior Finance Manager (part-time) – 13 April

Internships
(1) Front Line Defenders: Frank Jennings (FJ) Fellowship 2026-2027 – 14 April
The FJ Fellow will spend three and a half months at Front Line Defenders Dublin office where they will be trained in relation to Human Rights Defenders; the UN Declaration on Human Rights Defenders; the Mandate of the UN Special Rapporteur; the procedures and methodology of the mandate; the role of Front Line Defenders and other national and international organisations in the support and protection of Human Rights Defenders. The Fellow will then enter an internship programme at the OHCHR and will move to Geneva for a period of six months before returning to Front Line Defenders for a further three months. Courses and Training
(1) GOAL: GOAL’s NextGen Youth programme
GOAL’s NextGen Youth Programme brings together young people from all over the world to better understand global justice issues and deepen their understanding of Global Citizenship. This programme will guide young, motivated changemakers to learn about the growing crises facing our world. The 2026 Programme will consist of 10 sessions that take place online, with 2 sessions in-person for Irish based participants between 23 May – 17 July. For more information please click here.
(2) STAND: Ideas Collective 2026 – 15 May
The Ideas Collective is STAND’s social innovation bootcamp and incubator programme supporting students and recent graduates to develop early-stage ideas that address social justice and sustainability challenges. Participants take part in a five-day bootcamp featuring design thinking workshops, global citizenship education, personal development and guest speakers from the social innovation sector. Each bootcamp concludes with a pitch showcase, where participants can receive seed funding and a place on the nine-month Ideas Collective Incubator. Find out more here.
(3) Maynooth University School of Law & Criminology: International Justice LLM programme
The International Justice master’s programme provides vital practical and conceptual insights into issues of human rights, equality and social justice under international law. It involves deep, critical engagement with the international legal order and questions of justice for economically marginalised communities, migrants and racialised groups, victims of gendered violence, people with disabilities, and Global South peoples. The master’s is open to applicants with legal and non-legal backgrounds alike. It features special guest lectures from UN Special Rapporteurs and other leading figures, a trip to the Hague to visit international courts and institutions, and the option of a placement module to work part-time at one of our partner organisations (human rights and international development NGOs, trade unions, solicitor firms, research institutes). (4) UCD Clinton Institute: CNN Academy Humanitarian Crisis Simulation – 5-10 July
This immersive summer programme, led by CNN journalists and trainers, simulates
a breaking-news crisis, and is tailored for communicators with interests in
humanitarian assistance and international development. Step into a realistic humanitarian crisis and practise communicating under pressure—working directly with emerging journalists covering a fastmoving fictional emergency. You’ll take part in press conferences, interviews, and briefings, testing your messaging, confidence, and decision-making in a safe but demanding environment. This hands-on experience will sharpen your media skills, deepen your understanding of how journalists work on deadline, and strengthen your crisis communications toolkit. If you want practical experience you can take straight back to your NGO role, this simulation is for you.
