(11) Irish Red Cross: Information & Outreach Officer – 18 August
The Information & Outreach Officer is responsible for developing accessible information and training materials and delivering both in-person and online information and training sessions on migration and Restoring Family Links (RFL). These training and information sessions will be delivered to relevant stakeholders and beneficiaries, including Beneficiaries of Temporary Protection and International Protection Applicants (including unaccompanied minors). (1) Irish Development Education Association (IDEA): Call for Tenders – Research Consultancy on Global North–South Partnerships in GCE – 13 August
Irish Development Education Association (IDEA), in partnership with Concern Worldwide, is seeking a consultant to undertake a research consultancy on equitable Global North–South partnerships in Global Citizenship Education (GCE). The consultancy will identify practical examples of good partnership practice and develop evidence-informed guidance to strengthen equitable, reciprocal and sustainable collaboration between organisations on the island of Ireland and partners in the Global South. (2) Saolta: Tender for a GCE Adaptation of Level 4 Horticulture Science Module – 14 August
Saolta is seeking a consultant to adapt the Horticulture Science (4N0682) Level 4 Further Education and Training module by embedding Global Citizenship Education (GCE) principles throughout its learning outcomes, teaching approaches and assessments. The consultancy aims to strengthen learners’ understanding of sustainability, social justice, human rights, intercultural understanding and global interdependence while ensuring alignment with Irish FET quality standards. The successful consultant will produce an updated module outline, beginning in September 2026 and concluding by 20 November 2026. (3) ActionAid Ireland: Tender, New Strategy – 19 August
ActionAid Ireland is now seeking a consultant/s to refine our current strategy into a new strategy for the period 2028 to 2032. The objectives are: 1. To facilitate a reflection process on the current strategy with the team, ActionAid Ireland’s board, ActionAid International, and some ActionAid country partners we support. 2. To help ensure the process is guided by good practice, using reflective tools and processes and informed by external and strategic thinking. 3. To help deliver a strategy that is focused and outlines the impact and added value of ActionAid Ireland, with implementation thought through and in line with the vision and ambition of the wider ActionAid federation. (1) ECO-UNESCO: QQI Level 6 Ecology and the Environment Course by ECO-UNESCO (Part-Time Courses Open for Enrolment) – 9 September

ECO-UNESCO is offering a QQI-Accredited Level 6 Minor Award in Ecology and the Environment for part-time learners, providing a thorough introduction to ecological systems, biodiversity, and environmental conservation. This course is open to all learners, whether you’re looking to upskill your current ecological and environmental knowledge or step into a developing field. Participants will explore habitat management, biodiversity protection, and environmental policy, while building practical field skills in species identification, habitat surveying, water quality assessment, and invasive species management across a range of Irish ecosystems. (1) Irish Development Education Association (IDEA): IDEA calls for Budget 2027 to strengthen Global Citizenship Education
As Ireland prepares Budget 2027, IDEA is calling on the Government to invest in Global Citizenship Education (GCE) to strengthen Ireland’s long-standing leadership in global solidarity. In the face of increasing global uncertainty, climate challenges, conflict, and disinformation, IDEA argues that sustained investment in GCE will equip people with the knowledge and skills to engage critically with global issues and build a more just, inclusive, and resilient society. IDEA’s pre-budget recommendations also call for stronger cross-government coordination and long-term funding to protect and expand Ireland’s impact in this vital area. Read more here.
(2) The Wheel Bursary: NCI Certificate in Nonprofit Leadership and Management – 31 August
The Leadership Academy is delighted to be offering a Bursary to one lucky applicant for the upcoming September intake of NCI Certificate in Nonprofit Leadership and Management. Developed in partnership with Quality Matters and The Wheel, this Level 9 Certificate has been running for over ten years and is hugely popular in the sector. We are once again offering one fully funded place, worth €1,575, for someone within our membership from a small or medium-sized organisation (organisations with annual income of less than €1 million). This will cover the full cost of the fee for the Autumn 2026 NCI Non-Profit Leadership and Management course. The course commences on Monday 14 September 2026. (3) Centre for Global Education: Policy and Practice Issue 44, Call for Contributors – 4 September
The Centre for Global Education is inviting contributions to Issue 44 of our bi-annual, open access and peer-reviewed journal, Policy and Practice: A Development Education on the theme “Development Education and the Uses and Abuses of Knowledge”. Authors interested in submitting to this issue should send the editor an abstract submission form on or before 5.00 pm on Friday, 4 September 2026.
