Disability In Development Working Group In Conversation With José Viera
The Disability in Development Working Group held a session with visiting guest speaker José Viera of the International Disability Association during his trip to Dublin in January 2025.
Webinar: From Presentation to Representation: Participation and working collaboratively and collectively with Disabled People and their Organisations (DPOs)
In October 2024 the Dóchas Disability in International Development Working Group held a webinar titled ‘ From Presentation to Representation: participation and working collaboratively with Disabled People and their Organisations (DPOs)’ – an international perspective.
The webinar explored the significance of meaningful engagement with DPOs in humanitarian and development work. Working in partnership is where we find local solutions to local challenges, and it is a key aspect of disability equality. Meaningful engagement and support are also vital elements, helping us reach those often overlooked in many spaces and amplifying their voices.
This event was moderated by Dr. James Casey, Disability Inclusive Climate Justice Lead at CBM Ireland.
