(1) Dóchas Worldview at All Together Now

Heading to All Together Now this bank holiday weekend? Visit the Dóchas Worldview Project at the Global Solidarity Hub in the All Curious Minds Area. Dóchas, alongside Trócaire, GOAL, and Sightsavers Ireland will be there across the weekend, hosting some great speakers and artists such as Fionnula Jay, Toshín, BenValla, and many more. There will also be exhibitions and workshops on the latest in all things global solidarity, as well as meditation sessions to rejuvenate yourself during the weekend. Upcoming Events and Conferences 

(1) Médecins Sans Frontières: Gaza and Sudan - Healthcare on the Frontline - 5 September 

Join Médecins Sans Frontières Ireland for a first-hand update on the medical humanitarian impact of the devastating wars in Gaza and Sudan at the Triskel Arts Centre in Cork on September 5. The situation in Gaza is catastrophic. Most of Gaza’s hospitals are out of service, after being repeatedly attacked, besieged and raided. Meanwhile, people in Sudan have faced horrific levels of violence since the war started there in March 2023. MSF is active in eight states in Sudan, providing lifesaving assistance to people affected by the violence, displacement, and disruptions in the health system. Speakers on the day include Dr Chris Hook and Emergency Coordinator Jacob Burns, returned from Gaza, and Dr Jennifer Hulse, returned from Sudan. Discussion facilitated by Graham Clifford. (5) Irish Red Cross: Community Fundraising & Events Executive 

We are seeking a dynamic individual with exceptional motivation and networking skills to drive this critical and expanding area of Irish Red Cross fundraising. This is an exciting role for a self-starting individual who wants to make a difference working with one of Ireland’s most respected charity organisations. The Community Fundraising & Events Executive is responsible for delivering funds from members of the public and community groups who wish to participate in activities or events for the purpose of raising funds for the Irish Red Cross. (6) Centre for Global Education: Assistant Editor

The Centre for Global Education seeks an Assistant Editor to support the publication of our peer-reviewed, open-access journal 'Policy and Practice: A Development Education Review'. This position represents an exciting opportunity to work on one of the most influential publications in the development education sector, both locally and internationally. The post is part-time (17.5 hours), and has a contract from 1 September 2024 to 31 May 2025 with prospects of extension. (7) UNICEF Ireland: Child Rights Schools Manager

We are looking for a dynamic programme manager to lead the implementation and expansion of UNICEF’s Child Rights Schools initiative in Ireland. Child Rights Schools is an innovative and creative programme that aims to embed child rights into the ethos and practice of primary schools in Ireland. We are looking for someone with excellent communication and project management skills, with experience in the education sector. (8) Plan International: Supporter Retention Officer

We are looking for a dynamic fundraising professional to help develop and deliver our retention strategy, to motivate and retain our supporters. The primary purpose of the role is to deliver regular giving and cash supporter journeys across a multitude of fundraising channels, to both engage donors and maximise lifetime value. You will have a special focus on planning and delivering sponsorship communications in line with Plan Ireland’s retention strategy and that of the Plan International globally. As a Supporter Retention Officer, you will have the ability to deliver high quality supporter journeys whilst providing exceptional service to key internal and external stakeholders. (9) Front Line Defenders: MEL Manager

The MEL Manager manages the MEL Team. This includes leading on the development and overseeing the roll-out of an organisational MEL system, ensuring accountability to donors and HRDs. The MEL Manager will promote all aspects of MEL to support an organisational culture which prioritizes quality programming. This includes leading FLD’s internal learning efforts, developing and overseeing FLD’s evaluation plan, and overseeing adequate implementation of monitoring tools. This is a permanent contract and the role requires 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday. The salary range is from €52,015 to €66,229, with 26 days annual leave, plus benefits. Find out more here. The Irish Refugee Council is recruiting a Receptionist and Triage and Officer. The role is critical for the organisation and is often the first point of contact for people who access our services. The right candidate will be an excellent communicator who is able to manage a very busy reception space, respond to incoming queries from multiple sources and ensure the effective of delivery of up-to-date information. (13) Institute of International and European Affairs (IIEA): EU Researcher

The Institute of International and European Affairs (IIEA), a leading independent think-tank based in Dublin, Ireland, is currently seeking a full-time Researcher to contribute to the IIEA’s research and events programmes. Consultant to Develop a Resource Pack on Communications

Saolta is seeking a qualified Consultant to develop a comprehensive resource pack on Communications with a focus on Global Citizenship Education. This resource pack will support the Communications modules in FET courses, specifically for Level 04 in Ireland. Communications modules are often mandatory in many FET courses in Ireland. Therefore, the resource pack aims to enhance the understanding and implementation of GCE principles within communications training for educators and learners and contribute to the development of informed, active, and responsible global citizens through ACE in Ireland. (1) Irish Global Health Network: Leadership Essentials in Global Health

(2) Quality Matters, The Wheel and NCI: Leaders for Change Level 9 Certificate in Nonprofit Leadership and Management

Leaders for Change is an applied programme, aimed at improving specific managerial and leadership competencies for managers and executives in Irish nonprofit organisations. The course combines academic, evidence-based practices with practitioner-led knowledge and skills. The Centre for Global Education has launched a new podcast series called “Reimagining Development” which aims to discuss new ways of thinking about and practicing global education and international development with leading thinkers, activists, authors and practitioners in both sectors. (2) IRLI: Listen to the later episode of the IRLI Horsehair Wigs Podcast

For the latest episode in Irish Rule of Law International's podcast series, journalist Evelyn McClafferty catches up with Stéphanie Caligara – a lawyer and consultant with the Global Legal Action Network. Her work focuses on environmental and climate litigation, human rights and corporate accountability. She also has experience in investment treaty arbitration.
