Call for Tender: Worldview Research Project Final Evaluation
Dóchas requires the support of a consultant to facilitate the evaluation of the Worldview Project in its first five years. The purpose of the evaluation is to provide Dóchas, our members, and Irish Aid with an independent reflective assessment of the work of Dóchas over the period of Worldview since 2020. The main objective of this formative evaluation is to assess if Worldview has succeeded in achieving its objectives since its inception. The evaluation should identify what has worked well, less well or could have been implemented, managed and/or designed better, therefore assessing the opportunities, limitations and effectiveness of the Worldview research project. DSAI: The Future of Global Cooperation - Keynote Address by Jonathan Glennie
Join DSAI on 12 June at 1pm at Trinity College to hear Jonathan Gleine deliver a keynote address on The Future of Global Cooperation. Jonathan Glennie is a writer, researcher, campaigner and consultant on sustainable development, inequality and poverty. He recently co-founded a new thinktank, Global Nation. His work looks in particular at the changing nature of international cooperation as dominant paradigms and global economic relationships evolve. He has held senior positions in several international organisations, including Ipsos, Save the Children, ODI and Christian Aid and helped set up The Guardian‘s Global Development website, for which he was a regular columnist. Charities Institute Ireland: Screening of “Uncharitable”
Join Charities Institute Ireland for a special screening of ‘Uncharitable’ at Triskel Arts Centre, Cork on 13 June! Directed by Stephen Gyllenhall and featuring actor Ed Norton, the film provides us with the opportunity to look at this topic anew. Dan Pallotta, whose lifetime commitment to championing the charity sector the documentary is based on, has spearheaded a long-running campaign in the US to change perceptions about indirect/overhead costs. IFIAD: SEADS Webinar
IFIAD will host a webinar on the "Standards for supporting crop-related livelihoods in emergencies (SEADS)" handbook on 27 June, 2024, 10am to 11am (Irish Time). The aim of SEADS is to have common standards in humanitarian crop interventions from assessments, implementation, monitoring and evaluation. Alistair Short is the SEADS Coordinator and is currently supporting the institutionalisation of SEADS to improve the design of crop-based interventions in humanitarian and development programmes. Dr. Ruth Pritchard: Webinar on Implementing Effectively in Human and Social Services
A lot of effort goes into planning interventions and programmes but implementation, typically, receives far less attention and yet, this is where most of us live - in the real, often messy, world of practice and continuous improvement. This webinar taking place on 3 July, is grounded in Implementation Science and will be useful to public sector, partner agency and NGO staff in human & social services fields who are implementing evidence-based interventions, programmes and services and want to improve their implementation practice. The Humanitarian Leadership Academy and the Eco-Leadership Institute, in partnership with CO3 (Chief Officers Third Sector) are delighted to offer a unique 3.5-day leadership development event taking place 19-22 November. Community Wetlands Forum: Workshop on Wetland Conservation
The Community Wetlands Forum is organising a workshop on Thursday 27 June in the Íontas Theatre, Castleblayney, to explore the topic of land access for community led wetland conservation. Without access to land, whether it be via ownership, leasing or agreement with landowners, projects can't go ahead.The workshop will explore successes and barriers to accessing land for community wetland conservation and stewardship projects. It will hear from members of the Community Wetlands Forum (CWF) about their challenges and successes in accessing land via different means. Irish Red Cross: Multiple Opportunities
Communications Manager
The Irish Red Cross (IRC) is looking for a creative and highly motivated communications professional to develop and implement a clear and compelling communications strategy to bring our story to a wider audience. This is an exciting and strategic role that will focus on the development of a coordinated approach to build public support for the IRC and the establishment of an efficient and coordinated internal communications structure throughout the IRC’s national network and head office in Dublin. Monitoring and Evaluation Coordinator
The M&E Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the monitoring and evaluation function, across a number of projects, in the migration department. They ensure M&E is undertaken to the highest technical standard and that there is a strong analysis available and contributing to a high quality programme. The role will contribute to the ongoing development of the organisational M&E agenda. Migration is a priority focus for the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement internationally as well as for the IRC in Ireland. Ireland, along with other countries, has experienced considerably more inward migration in recent years from people in need of protection and, as a result, is challenged to respond with appropriate supports for all affected. Integration Officer

Mediation Officer
The Irish Red Cross is tasked under its mandate as auxiliary to the Irish Government to develop capacity building and mediations services for the Beneficiaries of Temporary Protection (BOTPs) living in pledged and state accommodation. ER Medical Doctor

The Irish Development Education Association (IDEA) is seeking a consultant to lead the drafting and development of a Theory of Change (ToC) for GCE in Ireland in consultation with IDEA members. This will include various tasks between June and December as described in the Terms of Reference and Timeframe. A Theory of Change is an important step in identifying the cumulative impact of GCE in Ireland. This builds on work already carried out on impact measurement of DE/GCE in Ireland by IDEA. The Culture Of Impunity In Mexico Around The Disappearance Of Thousands Of Women
Legal expert, Rhea Kneifati, who specialises in sexual and gender-based investigations talks to us on the show this month. Rhea discusses the significant problem of the disappearance of women in Mexico, where there are currently 27,000 missing women. Rhea was deployed by Justice Rapid Response - an NGO with a roster of experts investigating international crimes and serious human rights violations – to work with a Mexican strategic human rights litigation organisation, Idheas to investigate the disappearance of women in the Mexican state of Guerrero. Tonga Literacy Project: Video on Language and Cultural Rights
This video, which was recently launched at an event in Binga, Zimbabwe, tells the story of a community’s fight for its language and cultural rights. Shortlisted for three film festival awards, "The People of the Great River" shows how the Tonga people were removed from their riverbank homes to make way for the largest dam in the world, at Kariba, in Zimbabwe. National Youth Council of Ireland: 2024 One World Week Seed Fund
The 2024 One World Week Seed Fund applications in association with Irish Aid have launched! The fund is an exciting opportunity for youth organisations to explore an aspect of the Sustainable Development Goals, and to connect your work locally with issues, events and happenings globally. Project implementation should take place between 12 August - 20 October 2024. Successful applicants will receive a grant of up to €400 and free training with the Youth 2030 expert team to help you deliver a young person-centered project on issues relating to our global world.
