Dóchas deeply saddened by death of Justin Kilcullen

Dóchas is devastated to learn of the passing of Justin Kilcullen, a true leader in the humanitarian and development sector here in Ireland and someone known and loved by many of our member organisations.

Justin worked closely with Dóchas for decades, serving on our Board in the 1990s and most recently speaking at the reception to celebrate our 50th anniversary in May. During his tenure as Executive Director of Trócaire, from 1993 to 2013, and in the years since, he has tirelessly advocated for social justice and championed those who are most vulnerable and marginalised around the world. 

Dóchas CEO Jane-Ann McKenna said: “Justin’s passing represents a very significant loss for those who had the pleasure to know him. His considered, kind and compassionate manner, together with his leadership and commitment to justice, will be remembered for years to come. We extend our condolences to Justin's family and many friends at this difficult time.”
