Dóchas Director to step down after 13 years

NGO umbrella announcing plans to recruit new CEO to lead the organisation into its new strategy

Dóchas Chairperson, Sharan Kelly, today announced the stepping down of long-time Director of Dóchas,  Hans Zomer.

The 47-year old is stepping down in November to pursue an exciting new role elsewhere.

“It has been a privilege and a pleasure to work with Hans, who has led the Dóchas network since 2002 and been pivotal in mobilising the many dedicated people in our member organisations towards a stronger, more impactful NGO sector. Hans has worked tirelessly to communicate a shared sense of purpose among our members and to make Dóchas a standard-setter in the areas of accountability, transparency, impact and public engagement,” said Sharan Kelly, CEO of Tearfund Ireland and Chairperson of Dóchas.

The Board of Directors take this opportunity to acknowledge and extend its sincerest thanks to Hans for an exceptional 13 years with Dóchas and its heartfelt good wishes for his new career direction.

A political scientist by training, Hans Zomer worked for Concern Worldwide in Dublin, as well as for human rights organisations in Chad and Pakistan before joining Dóchas as its first Director in October 2002.

The Dóchas Board is now embarking on its process to recruit its new CEO to lead Dóchas into its new strategy.
