Young People, 2015 and Beyond…

10 Tue, Feb 10:00 AM to 10 Tue, Feb 04:30 PM

The National Youth Council of Ireland (NYCI) Development Education Programme is delighted to announce and invite you to a Roundtable Event focusing on young people and the post 2015 agenda.

This event is open to youth, community, development, and development education organisations, staff, volunteers, students, and young people. It will also include policymakers, academia, politicians and others.

Over the last months, world governments have been meeting to negotiate a set of agreed world goals to enhance the world in which we live – for the betterment of everyone particularly those living on the margins. The negotiations have included discussions on everything from poverty, hunger, health, child protection, inequality, sustainable living, education, climate change, development, gender equality, water and sanitation, peaceful societies and sustainable development.

Ireland is taking a lead on these negotiations together with Kenya.

2015 is a crunch year when these negotiations at the United Nations in New York must produce a roadmap by which goals and targets will be achieved.
