(1) Dóchas AGM: 10am-12pm, 16 July

The Dóchas AGM has been rescheduled to 16 July from 10am to 12 noon. The meeting will be hosted at the Dóchas office, with members joining virtually due to the restrictions on gatherings during the COVID-19 pandemic. Further details to follow.

(2) Dóchas seeks Dóchas Representative for DSAI

Dóchas seeks an individual from amongst its member agencies to represent Dóchas membership at the Development Studies Association of Ireland (DSAI). DSAI is a national platform providing an open and participatory space for dialogue between researchers, policy-makers and practitioners working in the area of international development. The Dóchas representative will be involved in the DSAI Steering Committee, will inform DSAI on key Dóchas activities, contribute to DSAI initiatives, and report back to the Dóchas secretariat. For details see Terms of Reference here.

(3) Dóchas' Response to COVID-19

Like all organisations, we in Dóchas are coming to terms with the current working conditions. We remain open, but have gone “virtual” where possible. We have postponed all face to face events and meetings until further notice. However, we will be carrying out meetings virtually where appropriate, as we recognise the importance of connection at this time. We have identified some useful resources. In particular, see the Business Continuity Spreadsheet developed by The Wheel. Other references include:

We will continue to share any valuable updates and resources from reliable sources through the Wednesday News, the Dóchas COVID Catch up, and social media platforms and encourage others to do this also. In order to support organisations as they respond to the COVID-19 situation, please share any concerns or challenges that you think Dochas can assist the sector address to suzanne@dochas.ie or seamus@dochas.ie

Please note that participation in the above meetings/events is open to Dóchas member agencies only. For further information on any of the above, please contact the Dóchas office, T: 01 4053801, E: programmesupport@dochas.ie
