Development Education Group

Background

This group views Development education as a fundamental part of our development cooperation programme; it highlights Ireland’s many interactions with the rest of the world, and enables people to become effective global citizens.  The members of Dóchas are uniquely placed to play a bridging role between citizens in Ireland and people in developing countries.

Current focus

  • The DEG provides a platform for learning and sharing best practice examples of development education, a close link and representation on European platforms and opportunities for collaboration with other Dóchas members.

  • Share experiences and challenges related to Dev Ed in the organisation and in the development sector in Ireland

  • It’s a place for organisation that focus primarily on Dev Ed and organisations that are trying to integrate Dev Ed into their other activities and campaigns to come together, exchange ideas and organize joint projects.

  • To share insights about our work, collaborate on joint pieces of work (research and funding)
