Public urged to visit Howyoucanhelp.ie to find out how to support earthquake survivors
Dóchas, the Irish Association of Non-Governmental Development Organisations is urging members of the public to visit: www.howyoucanhelp.ie to find out how they can support relief efforts in Pakistan and Afghanistan following a devastating earthquake which hit the regions on Monday.
As winter approaches, freezing weather conditions are further endangering the lives of the survivors of the powerful 7.5 magnitude earthquake that has killed over 300 people and left thousands homeless.
Irish NGOs are working with partner organisations in the region to provide humanitarian relief in the form of shelter, food supplies, sanitation, medical services and psychosocial support to people in the affected regions as they continue to grapple with the aftermath of this devastating earthquake. Blocked roads and limited access to remote areas is also proving to be a major obstacle to relief efforts.
